This page is for our son, Brendan Deloria, the race enthusiast! Now 8 yrs. old, he has started racing Quarter Midgets and Junior Sportsman Champ race cars.

June 7, 2008
This was the first race I (Tracy) attanded. Since I'm out of town almost every weekend at dog shows, and races are primarily held on Saturdays, I was so excited to see my son race. This race was a Quarter Midget race, held in Salisbury, NC.
Following qualifying, the 7 race car drivers are assigned their starting positions. Brendan was to start second. And #2 was taped onto his Quarter Midget.
While we waited with anticipation, I took some "fun shots" of friends and family. Pictured here are Uncle Jamie & his daughter, Baby Avery.

Here, Baby Avery is tryng out the seat!

Here is the start of the race.

Ready to pass the leader!

After Brendan passes the #1 car!! Check out Dad in the background, navy blue shirt & tan shorts.

The finishing win photo!!!!!! Notice the guy in the background with the navy blue shirt, tan shorts & big smile!!

The race winner! He didn't hesitate a second to get out of that hot fire suit. It was 99 degrees on this day. We could not believe how hot it was for the beginning of June! He was given an ice cold water, and had some of that water poured over his head!

Lance joined in for the winning photo shoot. We were sooo proud, and sooo happy for Brendan!!
And there's the occasional "smart ass". I had asked Brendan to give me "half a smile", since he was so hot, he had a straight face. And this is what I got.....

And then there's the big kiss!!

After the race, we drove home (2 hours) jumped in the pool, and celebrated with a cook out. I couldn't have asked for a better day off from my job. My first race, my son's first win, my husband's big proud smile, family to join in the celebration, and a day to remember!!!!!
