Mocha is a black Rocky Mountain Mare. Standing at 15 hands with a beautiful, wavy, long, full mane & tail. Much like a "little Fresian". She has been with me since she was 8 mos. old. She was easy to train, and retained all of the info after each lesson. She has been a trail horse, even riding double with my 6-7 yr old son in a buddy seat. She goes where you point her, and isn't spooky at all. She will lead, follow, doesn't offer to kick other horses, goes through water, over bridges, rides with dogs, and 4 wheelers, loads and unloads easily, stalls quietly, stands tied quietly, bathes, stands quietly for the farrier, and isn't worried about the vet and getting her vaccines. She allows me to do ANYTHING to her. Best thing about her though, is you call, and she comes running!!
She has had 2 foals to date. She foals easily, and has lots of milk. She is a great protective mother, that allowed us into her stall for imprinting. Mocha is also a protective mother over my other mares babies, too. She is just a wonderful mare!
She had her second foal, last spring. She was bred to RDJ'S REMINGTON EAST, a Blue Roan RMHA/KMSHA stallion, (click here to view pictures and pedigree of "East"). Mocha had a beautiful black filly, that we still have here available for sale, also.
Mocha has only ever been trail ridden. And last fall we put my 8 yr.old son on her for a 3 day trail ride up in the mountains. He is a timid rider, and was scared for the entire first day. But, Mocha didn't seem to care, she carried him all over, carefully and calmly. By the second day, they were leading the trail ride!!! She also can be ridden bareback with a halter and lead rope. She is just sweet and as easy going as they come!!
Update 4/22/09: Mocha has been bred to Pence's Blue Boy, who is a Homozygous Silver and Red Gene Negative stallion....................... She is GUARANTEED to have a CHOCOLATE foal, who will also be red gene negative!!! Her price will increase, once she is confirmed in foal.
